Lead Support for a Landlord

Hello Perry,

Thank you very much for your time, education and experience. I was in a situation where I had limited knowledge, no answers, no plans, and stressed/worried tenants.  The information you provided and actions you took have put both myself and tenants at ease.

You and the Community Energy Project provided a resource that no private company could without asking for hundreds of dollars and weeks of time.
I looked and tried other options before finding the Community Energy Project. You’re aware of what happened with those other options; wasted time and money.

You listened, saw a situation, then determined solutions while not relying on anyone outside of the Community Energy Project to put the plans into action.  Without me even asking, you volunteered to provide a service that hadn’t been done by the Community Energy Project. You knew you had the knowledge, experience and licenses to do it, so you took the steps to make it happen. This all happened within 24 hrs.

This is a perfect example of a community that works together. Each of us have a skill set. Your skill set took me from a horrible situation to an easily manageable situation. Hopefully my skill set can help someone in the community someday. If so, I won’t ask for a penny.

After seeing what Perry and the Community Energy Project has done for my tenants and me, I feel proud paying my taxes knowing that money goes to non-profits that truly educate and help the community. One day, more of those tax dollars will go to non-profits so many others in the community can be helped as I was.

Thanks again Perry, john h.

Dear Ryan,
Just a note to let you know I have completed my weatherization project and am finding such a HUGE difference in comfort level now that I’ve got rope caulk in all of the leaky places, warm window panels on my cold walls (it looks nice, honest!) and I have even switched out all my lightbulbs for compact fluorescents. Thank you, and your excellent volunteers, for kick-starting the big effort with the door stripping and rubber strips, especially that 1″ under the door leading to the basement!

Your landlord consultation session helped the process move efficiently. At every turn, your calm manner provided clear assistance and support.

Thank you, too, to those who graciously directed me, at my first cold call, to the senior program. And of course please pass on my thanks to Chaun, who made a great presenter last summer/fall of 2009. You are all just the right folks to be providing this great community service. Thank you!

Warmth Without a Furnace

Dear Ryan and Crew,

we cannot thank you enough for what you did for us.

Two days ago our furnace quit working and our mobile home was warm and it was 32 degrees outside. If you people hadn’t done what you did, we would have been so cold. Keep up the good work.

On Christmas eve we are having an open house from noon until midnight to celebrate Abner’s life! All of you can drop by for a ham, turkey buffet with marshmallows in the fireplace. We would love to see all of you.

Love and Blessings…

From a Client

I just wanted to thank you and your volunteers for coming to my daughters home. You installed a bath bar and did weather-stripping, and took out the doggie doors on their doors. I’m from Wichita, KS, and I so appreciate this program that is offered. It is kind of people like you and your volunteers to make this world a better place. Thanks again!

Thanks again for putting together such a terrific, comprehensive curriculum. I really enjoyed the emphasis on cultural competence, literacy, and how people learn. This stuff is too often taken for granted in the CAP environment.

I really wish I had a chance to hang around and talk to everyone. I think an energy educator’s newsletter would be awesome! Maybe even a google group??

Everyone in the energy programs field could benefit from a training like this – not just educators. Keep up the good work!!

Oregon Heat Recipient

Community Energy Project Employees,

Thank you for going above and beyond for me! It does not go unnoticed!

From a Regular Participant

From a client:
“I have had the opportunity to be one of Community Energy Project’s clients for several years.

Matt was here most recently and has helped me before. During this visit, Matt graciously sealed off the holes in the sheetrock around my hot water heater pipes. He also checked the weatherization elsewhere in my apartment to be sure it has remained in place — which it has. This has made a dramatic difference in my apartment by significantly diminishing the drafts, and improved the air quality in the apartment. I leave the weatherized places on throughout the year because it helps me immeasurably with my air condition expenses…

Thank you all for being there and for all your help over the years.”

From Oregon HEAT Client

Dear Marianne and Sherrie

Thank you both for your kindness and making me feel like a human being. God Bless.

Holiday Wishes

Thank you all so much for the care and commitment you’ve put into this project. I never could have afforded to insulate my windows – I can barely afford to heat my house – I woke up this morning to find ice on my windows – but the plastic was keeping my heat inside!!

I just had to let you know – I think you rock – and so does my son. Thanks again for changing my winter to a much cozier time of year!

Best wishes.
